Europe indexes muted as investors await major central bank decisions

London (UKX [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/UKX]) -0.25% to 10,352. The pound steadied above $1.35, bouncing back from two-week lows.

Germany (DAX:IND [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/DAX:IND]) +0.09% to 24,149. German consumer confidence fell more than expected, sinking to a more than three-year low in May.

France (CAC:IND [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/CAC:IND]) -0.12% to 8,147.

Iran has reportedly presented the U.S. with a new proposal [https://seekingalpha.com/news/4579786-iran-offers-deal-to-us-to-reopen-strait-delay-nuclear-talks-axios-reports] aimed at reopening the Strait of Hormuz and ending the conflict while postponing nuclear negotiations to a later stage. Meanwhile, investors are preparing for a busy week of major central bank decisions, including announcements from the Fed, the ECB, and the BoE.

The euro strengthened above $1.17, recovering from two-week lows recorded last week, as investors await a busy week of economic releases, including Eurozone inflation and GDP data.

In the bond market, the yield on the US 10-year Treasury was up 1 basis point to 4.32%.

UK's 10-year yield was up 4 basis points to 4.95%, approaching 2008 levels, as oil prices surged.

Germany's 10-year yield was up 1 basis point to 3.02%, nearing its highest level since 2011.
