Trump's tilt towards crypto remains strategic for midterm elections, says Cathie Wood

ARK Invest founder Cathie Wood recently pointed out that crypto remains strategic with U.S. President Trump approaching midterm elections. Wood argued that buying bitcoin for a U.S. strategic reserve helps secure another productive term in a recent episode [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7vlo6rj_bo8&list=PL4i4RQ_PMSj6Plocy0dn1jlP1qnQsrxut&index=20] of the "Bitcoin Brainstorm" podcast.

“The most important one is that he doesn’t want to be a lame duck,” Wood said. “He wants to have another one or two productive years, and I think he sees crypto as a path to the future.”

"It seems as though there has been reticence about actually buying bitcoin for the strategy reserve."

"The original intent was to own 1 million bitcoins, so I actually think they will start buying,"

Wood said that Trump is likely to back cryptocurrency for a number of reasons, including his family's increasing interest in the sector. She pointed out that the "crypto community" was "part of the reason he won the presidency."

She also added that Trump's administration will "make sure" it gets a _de minimis_ tax exemption ruling for small cryptocurrency transactions mainly to boost adoption.
