Quant ratings roundup for airlines as sector slides amid Middle East disruptions

Airline stocks have come under pressure lately as escalating disruptions in the Middle East and rising fuel costs weigh on investor sentiment, pushing many carriers sharply lower over the past month.

Jet fuel prices have surged about 81% since the start of the Iran conflict and are up roughly 124% year to date, according to The Real Economy Blog [https://seekingalpha.com/news/4564729-travel-to-get-costlier-as-jet-fuel-prices-surge], increasing cost pressures across the industry.

Airlines have begun raising ticket prices and adjusting route capacity to offset higher fuel expenses, moves that could ripple through the broader travel sector as carriers pass part of the increase on to customers.

Despite the recent selloff, quantitative ratings still point to a mix of risks and opportunities in the sector, with several airlines maintaining STRONG BUY or BUY ratings even after steep declines.
