SSR Mining reinstates dividend, authorizes additional $500M stock buyback

SSR Mining (SSRM [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/SSRM]) up 1.1% post-market Monday after saying its board approved [https://seekingalpha.com/pr/20552089-ssr-mining-announces-additional-500-million-share-buyback-and-reinstatement-of-quarterly] an additional $500M for share repurchases and the reinstatement of a regular quarterly dividend.

The board anticipates declaring the first quarterly cash dividend of $0.03/share—$0.12/share annualized—in conjunction with the company’s Q2 2026 financial results.

The company said the actions build on the $774M returned to shareholders since 2021, including $300M in share repurchases completed in Q2 2026; shareholder returns YTD already represent a ~5% yield before the effect of the additional $500M authorization for stock buybacks and the dividend reinstatement.

SSR Mining (SSRM [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/SSRM]) said it is in a strong financial position, supported by ongoing free cash flow generation, a robust balance sheet, and the anticipated closing of the previously announced $1.5B sale of the Copler mine, which remains on track to close before the end of Q3.

SSR Mining (SSRM [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/SSRM]) shares jumped 6.3% in regular trading Monday, as precious metals miners followed gold prices higher [https://seekingalpha.com/news/4603803-gold-and-mining-shares-rise-as-us-iran-deal-eases-rate-hike-fears] on news of a U.S.-Iran peace agreement that would reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
