Activist Investors Shift Back to Basics: ICR Global Head of Governance Gabriel Hasson, Live at NYSE
CorpGov hosted a fireside chat on July 28 from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange with Gabriel Hasson, Global Head of Governance, Shareholder and Activism Advisory, Managing Director at ICR. The in-person interview was joined by Editor-in-Chief John Jannarone and they discussed the back to fundamentals for corporate governance as shareholder activism reaches record levels, with investors shifting focus away from ESG-driven campaigns toward board accountability, capital allocation, and strategy and oversight. Mr. Hasson said companies need to adapt their disclosures and governance strategies for an evolving shareholder landscape where activists are using more targeted campaigns and technology to influence outcomes.
