Eaton surges 7% after Q2 beat-and-raise above Wall Street expectations

Eaton (ETN [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/ETN]) closed up 7.3% on Friday after reporting better-than-expected Q2 adjusted earnings [https://seekingalpha.com/news/4622575-eaton-reports-mixed-q2-results-raises-fy26-outlook] and revenue while boosting its adjusted EPS guidance for the full year to a range above consensus estimates.
Q2 net profit fell to $821M, or $2.11/share, from $982M, or $2.51/share, in the year-earlier quarter, and revenue rose 21% Y/Y to $8.53B, including record sales in the company's three main business segments: $3.95B in Electrical Americas, $2.52B in Electrical Global, and $1.22B in Aerospace.
Q2 operating profit also hit record highs in all three segments: Electrical Americas rose 10% Y/Y to $1.1B, with operating margins up 190 bps sequentially to 27.5%; Electrical Global jumped 41% Y/Y to $499M, with operating margins up 60 bps sequentially to 19.8%; and Aerospace increased 16% Y/Y to $278M, with operating margins up 60 bps sequentially to 22.8%.
CEO Paulo Ruiz said data centers remain a key growth driver and that the company is benefiting from robust demand.
For FY 2026, Eaton (ETN [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/ETN]) raised guidance for adjusted earnings to $13.40-$13.60/share from its previous outlook of $13.05-$13.50/share and above the $13.35 FactSet consensus estimate, with an 11%-13% rise in organic revenue, compared to prior expectations for a 9%-11% increase, including 14%-16% organic revenue growth in the Electrical Americas segment, vs. previous guidance for 12%-14% growth.
For Q3, the company issued in-line guidance for adjusted earnings of $3.46-$3.56/share, compared to the $3.15 FactSet consensus, with organic revenue growth of 13.5%-15.5%.
Eaton's (ETN [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/ETN]) Q2 report was "pretty solid across the board," BMO analyst Daniel DiCicco said in a note, pointing to 18% organic growth rates for both Electrical Americas and Electrical Global as strengths.
