Psychedelic drugmakers could get boost from HHS, VA memorandum

* A memorandum of understanding brokered Monday between HHS and the Veterans Administration could bode well for companies developing psychedelic-based drug treatments.
* The MOU is intended to bolster "collaboration on the research, clinical development, and responsible deployment to veterans suffering from serious mental health conditions of potential future rapid-acting psychedelic drug products if approved by the Food & Drug Administration."
* It also aims [https://www.hhs.gov/press-room/hhs-va-partner-advance-psychedelic-therapies-veterans.html] to increase participation in clinical research for promising candidates; train health care personnel to safely administer psychedelic therapies; share real-world data; and develop clinical guidance.
