ICON drops after Q4 earnings miss

Shares of ICON Public Limited (ICLR [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/ICLR]) traded lower in extended trading after the contract research organization fell short of street forecasts with its Q4 2025 earnings results, which were delayed due to an accounting probe earlier this year. The Irish firm reported $2.52 of non-GAAP diluted earnings per share compared to $3.23 in the FactSet consensus, implying a ~35% YoY decline, while its Q4 revenue of $2.1B grew ~3% YoY, exceeding $2.0B projected by analysts.

For the full year, Icon (ICLR [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/ICLR]) reported $12.53 of non-GAAP earnings per share on $8.3B in revenue with a ~6% YoY drop and an ~1% YoY growth, respectively.

Looking forward to 2026, the company projected $10.00-$11.00 adjusted EPS, which missed $11.22 in the consensus, and its revenue forecast of $7.85B-$8.15B exceeded $7.82B projected by analysts.

The company added that, as part of its investigation into certain accounting practices and controls, it is restating the consolidated financials to reflect that its revenue was overstated by 0.8% and 1.1% in 2023 and 2024, respectively.
