India stocks lower at close of trade; Nifty 50 down 0.63%

Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Real Estate, Capital Goods and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 lost 0.63% to hit a new 1-month low, while the BSE Sensex 30 index declined 0.70%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Shriram Finance Ltd. (NSE:SHMF), which rose 2.59% or 15.95 points to trade at 631.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Cipla Ltd. (NSE:CIPL) added 2.45% or 37.50 points to end at 1,570.00 and Hero MotoCorp Ltd (NSE:HROM) was up 1.45% or 61.30 points to 4,292.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (NSE:KTKM), which fell 7.34% or 155.90 points to trade at 1,968.70 at the close. Bajaj Finance Ltd (NSE:BJFN) declined 3.60% or 32.85 points to end at 880.90 and Wipro Ltd (NSE:WIPR) was down 3.47% or 9.00 points to 250.20.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (BO:HLL) which rose 1.23% to 2,444.90, Asian Paints Ltd. (BO:ASPN) which was up 1.06% to settle at 2,360.50 and ICICI Bank Ltd (BO:ICBK) which gained 0.73% to close at 1,487.40.
The worst performers were Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (BO:KTKM) which was down 7.31% to 1,969.55 in late trade, Bajaj Finance Ltd (BO:BJFN) which lost 3.53% to settle at 881.40 and IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:INBK) which was down 2.90% to 799.80 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1803 to 626 and 34 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2724 fell and 1234 advanced, while 164 ended unchanged.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was up 7.01% to 12.06.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.03% or 1.06 to $3,393.56 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.12% or 0.73 to hit $65.89 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.09% or 0.74 to trade at $68.40 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.24% to 86.68, while EUR/INR fell 0.49% to 101.07.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.58% at 97.96.
