Palantir, Chevron upgraded: Wall Street's top analyst calls

The most talked about and market moving research calls around Wall Street are now in one place. Here are today's research calls that investors need to know, as compiled by The Fly.

Top 5 Upgrades:

HSBC upgraded Adobe (ADBE) to Buy from Hold with a price target of $308, up from $282. The firm thinks the market is overestimating the adverse impact of AI-based design tools on Adobe's business, and believes the stock's reward now outweighs risks. DA Davidson upgraded Palantir (PLTR) to Buy from Neutral with a price target of $175, up from $165. The company has "grown into its valuation" as its profits are up significantly and the stock's multiple has come in. Wolfe Research upgraded Chevron (CVX) to Outperform from Peer Perform with a $210 price target. Chevron's spike and subsequent decline in share price since the start of the year has "masked several key changes that improve the investment case," argues the firm, which points to a long list of incremental production options secured since the start of the year extending the free cash flow growth outlook beyond 2030. Needham upgraded Silicom (SILC) to Buy from Hold with a $60 price target. The recently announced material progress with one of its new AI inference customers, resulting in initial production orders being received, accelerates the company's initial timeline, the firm tells investors. TD Securities upgraded BCE (BCE) to Buy from Hold with an unchanged price target of C$37. The firm cites valuation for the upgrade, saying the 13% selloff since early June is not justified and provides an attractive entry point.

Top 5 Downgrades:

Goldman Sachs downgraded SkyWest (SKYW) to Neutral from Buy with a price target of $108, down from $126. The firm cites downside risk to block hours and better risk/rewards elsewhere in the group for the downgrade. Susquehanna downgraded Greenbrier (GBX) to Neutral from Positive with an unchanged price target of $52. The firm cites a lack of visibility on improved builds and tariffs for the downgrade. Barclays downgraded Dana (DAN) to Equal Weight from Overweight with a price target of $33, down from $41. The firm believes Dana's path to a higher valuation multiple will take time. DA Davidson downgraded AGNT Inc.(AGNT) to Neutral from Buy with a price target of $6.50, down from $10.25. Although the firm expects a "decent" Q2, its checks suggest that AGNT's core U.S. agent count trends resumed their downward trajectory midway through Q2, the says. China Renaissance is moving the sidelines on Trip.com(TCOM), downgrading the stock to Hold from Buy with a $42 price target.

Story Continues

Top 5 Initiations:

BMO Capital initiated coverage of Honeywell Aerospace(HONA) with an Outperform rating and $276 price target, implying 21% upside. The firm views "supply chain unlock and management execution" as the keys to the investment story. JPMorgan resumed coverage of On Holding(ONON) with an Overweight rating and $51 price target, and placed the shares on "Positive Catalyst Watch." The firm sees potential for above-consensus Q2 results with additional guidance increases. RBC Capital initiated coverage of NiSource (NI) with an Outperform rating and $52 price target. NiSource offers "a rare combination" of above-peer EPS growth and "a uniquely favorable data center setup in Indiana," which the firm believes is not yet fully reflected in the stock. RBC Capital initiated coverage of PSEG (PEG) with a Sector Perform rating and $81 price target. RBC noted that the NJ regulatory overhang that has pressured the stock over the last year is "potentially alleviating," but the firm still wants "more clarity on the path forward" and waits on the sidelines for further clarity later this year. KeyBanc initiated coverage of Waystar (WAY) with an Overweight rating and $30 price target. The firm sees a "large valuation disconnect" at current share levels given the company's "high-margin growth story with large moats."
