AEW exits Lineage, more than halves stake in W. P. Carey among Q2 REIT positioning changes

AEW Capital Management exited from Lineage (NASDAQ:LINE [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/LINE]), added Rexford Industrial Realty (REXR [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/REXR]), more than halved its holding in W. P. Carey (NYSE:WPC [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/WPC]), and grew its position massively in CubeSmart (CUBE [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/CUBE]) during the second quarter.

The money manager cut its stake in 31 real estate investment trusts in Q2, reported [https://www.capitaliq.com/CIQDotNet/News/Article.aspx?listobjectid=2668699&newsItemId=322711251&stateKey=2cfed791139646bf9cb4f4216999c98c] S&P Global Market Intelligence, citing the company's latest 13F filing [https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1046187/000110465925074657/xslForm13F_X02/infotable.xml].

One of the largest real estate investment manager [https://www.aew.com/ap] in the world, AEW's REIT holdings reportedly declined by 7.1% quarter-over-quarter to about $1.90B as of June 30.

The money manager with more than $83.9B in assets under management exited from the industrial REIT Lineage (NASDAQ:LINE [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/LINE]), having sold 300 shares that it held at the end of the first quarter [https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1046187/000110465925048396/xslForm13F_X02/infotable.xml].

Notably, AEW trimmed its stake in the net lease REIT W. P. Carey (NYSE:WPC [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/WPC]) by more than half to 61,560 shares from 139,640 shares as of March 31.

AEW's position in the retail REIT Tanger (SKT [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/SKT]) decreased by 45% to 1,100 shares at Q2-end.

Other notable stake reductions took place in the self-storage REIT Extra Space Storage (EXR [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/EXR]) (3.79% to 143,719 shares) and shopping center REIT Macerich (MAC [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/MAC]) (10.54% to 1,380,906 shares).

Meanwhile, the investment manager took a new stake in Rexford Industrial Realty (REXR [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/REXR]) during Q2, with an acquisition of 120,480 shares in the industrial REIT.

Additionally, AEW increased its holdings in 12 REITs, according to Market Intelligence.

AEW's position in the self-storage REIT CubeSmart (CUBE [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/CUBE]) shot up to 587,000 shares at June 30 from 400 shares as of March 31.

Other significant stake increases took place in Healthpeak Properties (DOC [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/DOC]) (8.17% to 127,079 shares), VICI Properties (VICI [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/VICI]) (1.23% to 181,230 shares), Vornado Realty Trust (VNO [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/VNO]) (0.14% to 423,570 shares), and Phillips Edison (PECO [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/PECO]) (0.1% to 430,529 shares).
