What are the most attractive biotech stocks right now for investors?

Seeking Alpha analysts Stephen Ayers [https://seekingalpha.com/author/stephen-ayers] and Petri Dish Reports [https://seekingalpha.com/author/petri-dish-reports] offer their picks.

Stephen Ayers [https://seekingalpha.com/author/stephen-ayers]: A few names currently stand out to me. They have either recently launched drugs or are preparing to launch them.

I like what Insmed (INSM [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/INSM]) is doing with Brinsupri in non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis, or NCFB. NCFB is what you would call a “greenfield” market, with limited treatment options and a high unmet need. In its pipeline, TPIP (a Phase 3 once-daily treprostinil palmitil inhalation powder) has the potential to leapfrog more frequently administered treprostinil formulations like United Therapeutics’ (UTHR [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/UTHR]) Tyvaso DPI in blockbuster indications like pulmonary arterial hypertension, or PAH, and pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease, or PH-ILD.

Cogent Biosciences (COGT [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/COGT]) is readying a launch of bezuclastinib for systemic mastocytosis and gastrointestinal stromal tumors. Its opportunity in non-advanced systemic mastocytosis is particularly intriguing because bezuclastinib's improved tolerability profile over Sanofi’s (SNY [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/SNY]) Ayvakit (another TKI) could meaningfully expand this market.

I also think there is still some “alpha” in the small-cap obesity arena. Structure Therapeutics (GPCR [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/GPCR]) is one that I am watching closely, especially as it now trades well below Phase 2 data-inspired 52-week highs. The company is gearing up for a Phase 3 trial in obesity for its orally administered, once-daily, nonpeptide small molecule agonist of the glucagon-like-peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor, aleniglipron.

Although a couple of oral treatments already exist in this market, like Novo Nordisk’s (NVO [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/NVO]) Wegovy (a peptide) and Eli Lilly’s (LLY [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/LLY]) Foundayo (a small molecule), I believe Structure’s aleniglipron has the capability to offer the “best of both worlds” with superior manufacturability and distinguished tolerability.

Petri Dish Reports [https://seekingalpha.com/author/petri-dish-reports]: A name generating a lot of attention is ImmunityBio (IBRX [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/IBRX]). Here, the story is pretty much centered around their bladder cancer therapy, Anktiva. We’re seeing regulatory momentum following its FDA approval for non-muscle invasive bladder cancer, with the focus now shifting to commercialization and label expansion. The stock is up about 270% year-to-date. What makes the company particularly interesting to me is that it isn’t a hopeful Phase 2 story, but rather a revenue-generating biotech with a lot of potential upside from additional indications.

Travere Therapeutics (TVTX [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/TVTX]) would be an undervalued pick. This is really a regulatory/data-driven story centered around Filspari. The drug received accelerated approval for IgA nephropathy, but I see major catalyst momentum tied to their confirmatory Phase 3 data and potential full approval. I also see upside from expansion into the kidney disease focal segmental glomerulosclerosis, which is a pretty large, underserved market. The data so far have shown meaningful proteinuria reduction.

One last name also worth a look is Relay Therapeutics (RLAY [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/RLAY]). This is more of a pure clinical momentum play with their lead candidate, RLY-2608, a PI3Kα inhibitor, generating a lot of interest based on early-stage trial data, particularly in breast cancer combinations. I think the excitement is less about near-term FDA decisions and more about the emerging clinical data starting to validate their structure-based drug design platform. If those early datasets start to show stronger efficacy signals, we should see sharp moves because the upside case expands quickly if the mechanism proves out.
