[Stock market trading growth graph]
Hyliion Holdings Corp. (HYLN [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/HYLN]) shot up another 23.9% during Friday afternoon trading and is up more than 80% since the company reported first-quarter earnings.
During the earnings conference call, Hyliion (HYLN [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/HYLN]) management emphasized a roughly fourfold sequential revenue increase in Q1, driven largely by early deployments and military-related contracts.
"We continue to expect to sign $40 million to $50 million of additional military contracts this year on top of the approximately $20 million in ONR contracts we are currently executing," stated CEO Thomas Healy. He noted the contracts will not only be with the Navy and Air Force but with additional branches of the U.S. military as well.
From its SPAC-era peak high of around $50, HYLN has lost most of its value, reflecting investors disappointment versus early expectations. However, the stock is now up more than 400% from its 52-week low of $1.11.
