The Real Estate Select Sector SPDR Fund ETF (XLRE [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/XLRE]) had a steady start to 2026. In Q1, it gained around 1.11%, outperforming the S&P 500, which fell by about 4.81%. This shows that REIT stocks stayed relatively strong even when the broader market struggled.

Looking at three-month data, XLRE moved up from $40.44 to $42.44, giving a gain of ~4.95%, reported [https://www.ssga.com/us/en/intermediary] the State Street Investment Management tracker. The rise was slow but steady, showing that investors are still comfortable holding real estate assets.
