Mortgage rates fell for the second consecutive week, according to [https://seekingalpha.com/pr/20329517-mortgage-rates-move-down] the latest Freddie Mac (OTCQB:FMCC [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/FMCC]) Primary Mortgage Survey.

30-year fixed-rate mortgages averaged 6.19% as of December 4, down from 6.23% in the prior week and 6.69% in the same period a year ago.

15-year fixed-rate mortgages averaged 5.44%, down from 5.51% a week ago and 5.96% in the year-ago week.

"Compared to this time last year, mortgage rates are half a percent lower, creating a more favorable environment for homebuyers and homeowners," said Freddie Mac's chief economist, Sam Khater.
