AVITA Medical rises as Cohealyx halves time to skin grafting

* Shares of AVITA Medical (RCEL [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/RCEL]) climbed ~15% on Tuesday after the company announced that its wound care product Cohealyx accelerated the time to skin grafting with a duration of 13.6 days vs. 33.2 days in a benchmark analysis.
* Citing interim data, RCEL said that its Cohealyx-I multi-center study demonstrated statistical outperformance for Cohealyx. The benchmark represented published data derived from nearly 900 patients who had received dermal matrices.
* The Valencia, California-based biotech added that the 40-patient analysis also indicated a median time to grafting of 11 days, with 75% of grafts taking place within 14 days. The Cohealyx-I trial is expected to generate full data this year.
