AMC Entertainment reportedly collaborating with Taylor Swift for her 'secret' theatrical event

According to a Friday report by _The Hollywood Reporter_, pop music artist Taylor Swift is planning a "secret" theatrical event that will be tied to her upcoming album "The Life of a Showgirl" in collaboration with U.S. theater operator AMC Entertainment (NYSE:AMC [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/AMC]).

AMC shares were up over 7% after midday, while shares of other U.S. theater companies had a muted reaction to the report.

The report also said that Swift and her team financed the $15M project in which AMC is involved and bypassed the traditional Hollywood studio system.

A _Variety _report suggested that the secret theatrical event would be a release party film of her new album and will run for 89 minutes.

The report said "Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl" will be shown in all 540 AMC locations in the U.S. starting October 3, which is also the release date for her new album.
