KKR unit mulls at least $250M investment in partly Blue Owl-managed insurer - report

KKR & Co.'s (KKR [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/KKR]) Arctos unit is reportedly mulling an investment of at least $250M in an insurer whose assets are partly managed by Blue Owl Capital (OWL [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/OWL]), people familiar with the matter reportedly told Bloomberg News [https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2026-07-31/kkr-s-100-billion-push-to-finance-its-rivals-starts-to-build].

In 2024, Blue Owl agreed to buy $250M of preferred equity in the insurer Kuvare and to acquire its asset management unit, the report noted.

The preferred equity investment is expected to come out of the $6.2B Arctos Keystone Partners Fund I, which provides financing for alternative asset managers, according to some sources.

The KKR unit is seen to be in direct competition with Blackstone's (BX [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/BX]) Strategic Partners secondaries business. Through Arctos, KKR sees a chance to build on its existing relationships with 250 private equity firms.
